19 Jul 2016 AFI Lands Contract with Flybe Aviation Services
Rutland is pleased to announce that AFI has gained a 3-year hire contract with Flybe Aviation Services Ltd for seven scissor lifts at Exeter International Airport.
Flybe Aviation Services one of the world’s leading maintenance, repairs and overhaul organisations, providing a full range of support services to regional aircraft operators.
Steve Williams, AFI Director, said: “Flybe Aviation Services has specified three JLG models – the 1930, 2646 and 3246 – because they have used them for many years and have found them to be reliable, stable and easy to operate with an exceptional battery life. The lack of ‘run on’ when the machines come to rest was also of critical importance bearing in mind that they will be working around aircraft.”
Flybe Aviation Services will use the JLG scissor lifts for aircraft inspection, maintenance and repair, particularly to gain access to the upper fuselage and tail sections.
The AFI machines feature a QR code that operators can scan to view a video, which will help them to familiarise themselves with the specific machine they are using.
