Richard Matthews has been appointed as Head of Sigma Sales at Mellor, part of the Woodall Nicholson Group.
With abundant experience, Matthews joins Mellor after a highly successful sales role with Alexander Dennis Ltd, which saw him deliver impressive year-on-year growth over the last decade. Key among his attributes is Matthews’ intimate knowledge of the bus fleet sector and its inherent customer requirements. His impressive recent CV also includes a previous General Sales Manager role with ADL and a senior Parts Directorship with Optare.
The new, all-electric, purpose-built Sigma line-up boasts six distinct models, ‘city’ and ‘rural’ specifications, and numerous width and passenger door configurations, representing arguably the largest range of low-floor Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) buses from any manufacturer in Europe.
Mellor continues its mandate to produce size and cost appropriate vehicles, with Sigma offering a no-compromise solution for bus operators with its model-specific choice of battery capacities.
The appointment comes at a landmark moment in the recent history of the Mellor brand as it looks to increase customer choice and develop a new model to the benefit of operators and customers alike.
