30 Jul 2019 Omar Appoints New MD for UK Sundecks
Omar Group is delighted to announce the appointment of new Managing Director, John Gill, for UK Sundecks. The appointment marks the next phase in what is set to be exciting times for the brand, with new contracts and ambitious growth plans on the horizon.
UK Sundecks is a leading supplier of PVCu decking and was acquired by Omar in October 2018 to further strengthen the groups’ offering as a solutions provider to the luxury lodge and park home marketplace. No luxury lodge looks complete without a high quality deck and UK Sundecks supply and fit exactly that. Moreover, the galvanised steel sub-frame and anti-slip PVCu decks supplied are much more durable than other types of decking, therefore particularly suitable in the UK’s variable weather.
John joins Omar from a strong and diverse commercial background, joining the group from Assa Abloy Hospitality where he was Head of UK Sales & Marketing. With a number of senior management roles under his belt, including positions at H & R Johnson, Pilkington’s Tiles, Imperial Bathroom Company, Heritage Bathrooms and Impey Showers, John brings with him an impressive record of achievement. With proven capability of developing and managing high performing teams across the retail, contract and specification markets, John has also delivered impressive sales growth and increased market share.
John will report directly to Omar Chief Executive, Graeme Craig and will succeed Jake Randle who will eventually fully transition out of UK Sundecks, as part of the acquisition plan agreed when acquiring the company in 2018.
Jake, who is well-know and respected within the industry, has extensive commercial and technical knowledge of the decking market. He will work closely with John over the coming months to share this knowledge and help prepare John to deliver UK Sundecks’ growth plans.
