06 Aug 2018 OPDS Park Development Achieves 1000th Booking
Award winning Omar Park Development Services (OPDS) park development, Lode Hall Country Park has just achieved their 1000th booking through leading holiday bookings operator, Hoseasons. This high-quality countryside lodge development is a fantastic example of the potential of land diversification and what can be achieved through vision and hard work.
Set in beautiful countryside in the heart of the fens, Lode Hall Lodges offers luxury holiday accommodation in a secluded rural location. The lodge park itself is set within the grounds of Lode Hall, a 200-year-old Georgian country house. A haven for wildlife, Lode Hall has been awarded the David Bellamy Gold Award for conservation and is also highly commended by the RSPB.
Omar luxury lodges provide adult only guests with luxury accommodation to enjoy the surroundings and local area. All the lodges have private Jacuzzi hot tubs and there are even single-bedroom lodges designed especially for couples. These single-bedroom lodges have proved so popular that the owners have decided to expand the park and two more will be coming soon.
It was only three years ago that Dick and Fran Johnson, the owners of Lode Hall, were looking at ways to generate further income from their countryside estate. Having looked into various options they decided that creating a small exclusive lodge park was the way to go.
Having no experience in the leisure lodge market they enlisted the services of OPDS. Working alongside Dick and Fran, OPDS helped to transform their Greenfield site into a luxury holiday retreat. OPDS gave advice on planning, park infrastructure, lodge specification, marketing and the overall guest experience, delivering their vision through in-depth industry knowledge.
OPDS also introduced Dick and Fran to leading lodge holiday bookings operator Hoseasons. Hoseasons provided input into how Lode hall could deliver high-quality lodge holidays with features such as Jacuzzi hot tubs, pet friendly accommodation and free Wi-Fi and before Dick and Fran knew it the bookings were flooding in. Originally the plan was to sell the holiday lodges but rentals were so successful, the decision was made to concentrate purely on holiday lets.
Richard Sigsworth, Director for OPDS commented: “From working farm to successful lodge park, Lode Hall Lodges is a fantastic example of diversification. To have reached 1000 bookings in a relatively short period of time is a massive achievement and I’m thrilled for the owners. It doesn’t stop there though, with two more lodges coming soon, even more visitors will be able to enjoy the beautiful, tranquil location, warm welcome and of course luxury lodges with private hot tubs.”
Dick Johnson, owner of Lode Hall Country Park commented: “Developing a lodge park was unknown territory for us; we had the vision but how to achieve it was another matter. Thanks to the help and guidance of OPDS it’s been a huge success and has exceeded our expectations. We now look forward to the next development phase.”
Simon Altham, Managing Director of Revenue at Hoseasons’ parent company Vacation Rentals UK commented: “Lode Hall Country Park is a high-quality park providing guests with luxury accommodation to enjoy the local area. We recognised their outstanding offering last year at the Hoseasons Owners Conference where we awarded them with the Diamond Award – Lodge Escapes, Lodges and Parks in Britain (small park category) for East of England. The park is exactly the kind of offering that our customers want and perfect for promoting our brands.”
