Mike joined Rutland in 1990 and has been a Partner since the first fund was raised in 2000.
His experience spans an extensive range of corporate transactions and strategic restructuring projects including the leading of Rutland’s investments in Carron Energy and Pulse Home Products.
In 2012, Mike assumed Partner responsibility for the investor relations and finance functions of the firm, whilst retaining portfolio involvement through investment oversight initiatives and the firm’s Investment Committee. In 2024 Mike assumed the role as Managing Partner.
Mike is a production engineering graduate from Birmingham University and qualified as a chartered accountant with Price Waterhouse where he worked in the corporate reconstruction team before moving to Rutland.
