Rutland Partners Invests in JSM Group

Rutland Partners is pleased to announce the completion of its investment in JSM Group.

JSM is a market leading infrastructure services provider to the UK’s critical digital communications and power sectors.  The company has a strong presence within Greater London and the South East, targeting large and growing end-markets fuelled by the significant need for infrastructure expansion, upgrade and maintenance.

Since inception in 1998, JSM has built a strong reputation as a highly technical services provider.  The company has a long standing blue-chip base providing services across multiple areas including FTTP (Fibre To The Premise), the core fibre infrastructure network, mobile networks and datacentre connectivity (both fibre and power) as well as high-voltage connections in sectors including renewables and battery storage.  JSM is recognised for its differentiated knowledge and expertise in its core markets, as well as its strong commitment to quality customer service.  The company has seen significant growth in recent years and has a large and growing order book of repeat business with strong forward visibility.

JSM represents an exciting opportunity for Rutland to partner with co-founders Stuart Wiltshire (Managing Director) and John Scanlon (Operations Director).  Rutland was selected by the founders because of its experience in helping manage organisations through both change and expected growth as well as assisting them in further developing the business.  In addition to supporting JSM’s growth plans in its core markets, which contain positive underlying drivers including ever increasing fibre connectivity and data storage requirements, Rutland will work with JSM to enhance its platform to enable the next phase of growth in complementary areas.

David Wardrop, Partner at Rutland, said: “We believe that with Rutland’s support, JSM can implement its strategic plan and build on its market leading position in critical infrastructure markets.  It is a business that has an exceptional track record for delivery, which is reflected both in its financial performance and customer feedback.  We look forward to working with Stuart, John and the management team through JSM’s next phase of growth.”

Stuart Wiltshire, co-founder and Managing Director at JSM, said: “We are delighted to have chosen Rutland as our partner to support JSM’s development.  Their expertise and know-how will augment our strong team and enable JSM to continue providing outstanding technical services to our highly valued customers, whilst also facilitating continued growth.”

JSM represents the tenth investment from Rutland Fund III.  The team leading the transaction for Rutland was David Wardrop and Matthew Hamilton-Allen.
