17 Sep 2020 Environmentally Conscious Printing
Hello! recently became the latest high-profile magazine title to move its printing to Walstead, with a shift from gravure to web offset printing for its 7th September issue and beyond. After moving the printing of Hello! Fashion to Walstead earlier this year, publisher Tamsyn Spires commended the ‘quality of service and product’ that was delivered, which has led to both Hello! titles joining the Walstead print family.
The updated Hello! magazine has seen minor modifications in size, from 320mm to 300mm in depth, with further enhancements to paper stock on the cover and text pages planned for the coming issues. By embracing web offset and centralising the printing of both Hello! publications, the brand has been able to ‘improve efficiencies in our processes, carbon footprint and sustainability,’ Spires explains. Walstead was also able to simplify the supply chain, with our Bicester facility printing and stitching or printing and binding the titles as well as handling the paper wrap for the subscriber editions.
By ensuring the same or better quality of print, while helping the client to make environmentally-conscious improvements to its processes, Walstead not only satisfies its customers but looks after the environment at the same time.
